This full day course will provide you with lots of practical tips and useful information to improve your confidence when dealing with a wide range of emergency situations. Learn from Dr Penny Seet - a highly experienced emergency clinician, and her colleagues from PVE, in a comfortable and informal environment. This interactive course will use plenty of case examples, and the content will be relevant to nurses in general practice wishing to improve their skills.
Over the course of the day we will cover topics including:
Patient triage: telephone advice and initial patient examination
The first fifteen minutes: understanding and managing shock
Initial orders: baseline diagnostics and pain management
Approach to specific problems: trauma, toxicity and dyspnoea
At the end of the course, delegates will have the knowledge and skills to confidently deal with emergency situations both on the telephone and within the clinic.
