I first met Olivia at one of the veterinary conferences. What an inspirational talk on emotional intelligence she gave! Liv had the whole room problem solving on how to best resolve ‘practice politics’ scenarios.
My colleague attended another conference and was impacted by a speaker from the talk she walked into by accident. It was Liv!
She could see Liv’s skills could benefit our team in improving communication.
We closed our practice for a day so that Liv could do an interactive workshop. Everyone realised the impact that they could have in a day as an ‘emotional contagion’.
The day was well received by our incredible team.
Liv started the Human Savvy League and I’ve been on a journey of furthering my skills in emotional intelligence. I’ve met some amazing people along the way as a group of us meet each month to work with Liv to master a new subject. Prior to the meeting we have webinars to watch, podcasts to listen to and articles to read on the monthly topic. 2 weeks later we get a Q&A session which allows us to share our wins, observations, obstacles etc of practice life.
Liv is an inspiration, the last 6 months has flown by. I am looking forward to absorbing her vast knowledge over the coming 6 months. There isn’t anyone I wouldn’t recommend this course to. Every business could benefit from this course, opening up minds to make better workplaces and happier humans.
Liv’s work is completely different to anything I’ve ever done before. It focuses on an essential and, hugely under-explored area of Veterinary leadership - emotional intelligence. The League is an opportunity to think about leadership from a new angle and it doesn’t take long to realise that having a human-focus to leadership and investing heavily in self-awareness and self-development is the future…both for your own benefit and for the benefit of the people you lead.
It’s offered me a fresh perspective and finally I’ve found an approach to leadership that makes perfect sense to me! I see the benefits of Liv’s guidance playing out day to day in my practice and, she has helped me to manage many challenging situations effectively and sensitively. Liv’s work shows leaders that they can be strong and driven, at the same time as being highly empathetic towards those around them.
I’d recommend this course to anyone in leadership, whether you’ve been a leader for years or whether it’s a new venture. It’s very thought provoking and opens your mind to new ways of thinking. Liv’s style is unique - she brings fun and realism and is a joy to be coached by.
I first heard Liv speaking on the Vet Thrive podcast at the start of this year and thought this is so interesting how can I learn more about this. I have been a vet for several years now but had only just moved into a leadership role within my clinic the month prior and was already seeing that it was a very different dynamic and relationship in being on the floor with my team to leading my team on the floor.
I took the chance to listen to a presentation given by Liv and realised that what she was offering was a professional development course that I had not been able to find elsewhere for vet CPD. I find because Liv has worked in a variety of vet practices means that she understands the everyday clinic dynamics and the challenges that are faced with staff and clients.
I really enjoy connecting with other leaders from other parts of the world and learning from each other in how we can best help nurture our teams and look after ourselves also. The two catch ups a month are great and I have found the Meeting of the Month to be such a valuable resource where we can debrief on any situations or topics that have arisen and get the chance to unpack it and then work through it, which has given me so many tools in my leadership toolbox. Liv is very approachable and it’s clear that she is super passionate about helping teams gain clarity and self-awareness. I have learnt so much in the course and would 100% recommend the Human Savvy Course to anyone who is curious about how they can gain more self-awareness for themselves and their team.
For my next development focus, I was looking for something different and that would have an impact. The Human-Savvy League is very different and it has had a positive impact on me as a person, and my leadership practice.
As leaders and managers, we work with people and it's never been more important to have a strong understanding of emotional intelligence and positive psychology and gain an understanding of our own and teams 'needs so that we can become the best leaders for our teams.
Working with Liv and the amazing Savvies in my group in our regular meetings and group sessions has been a fantastic experience. I've been able to identify my strengths alongside the areas of growth and develop and fine-tune different strategies and practical techniques to support many different situations we experience as leaders every day. All while collaborating and sharing our own experiences.
Liv has a brilliant engaging delivery style. She is really supportive and very happy to explore the most difficult areas further. I would recommend this course for anyone on their leadership journey who is looking to understand themselves better and support their team in a holistic and truly empathic way.
